Mage Leader Board – October 2014
Based on: 1v1, clan wars and 8v8
Winning Olympics = you go top for one month
Tier 1
Sectorjam:
After threatening last year, Sector has now achieved a GOLD medal in the mage. His duelling technique is a perfect blend of defensive and offensive strategy, unsettling even the most experienced mages. Masterful victories over Angelus and Zoroastre saw Sector reach the top of the pile. Your current mage king!
Angelus:
Despite suffering his first duelling loss in years by his defeat to Sectorjam, Angelus nevertheless remains in the highest echelons of the class. A nearly unkillable mage in the 8v8 game, where he only rarely uses the class, Angelus remains dominant in all modes of the game. A perfect mage. Performed excellently in the Gauntlet.
Merlin:
The most successful mage in LOTR Conquest history. Merlin was defeated this year by Zoroastre, but continues to dominate, gaining revenge with a 10 - 5 victory in the Iron Man mage round. His 8v8 prowess and ability with the class are clear for all to see. The standard by which all other mages are measured. A legend of the class.
Tier 2
Royalty
A massive performace for VaLaR in their clan war victory over Eq. and an extremely narrow loss to Angelus in the Olympis see Royalty pushing towards tier 1. An excellent mage in all modes.
Frodosam
A tier 1 standard 8v8 mage, Frodosam can lift any team he plays for. A denfensive master with highly accurate lightning. The only thing keeping him from tier 1 is success in the 1v1 arena.
Zoroastre
A huge upset win over Merlin in the Olympics sees Zoro perched for tier 1 glory. An excellent duelling mage and strong 8v8 performer, a few more apperances with the class in the 8v8 mode, or just one or two more duelling victories over top opponents will see Zoro reach the top rank. A massive improvement from his last ranking.
Demonlord
A veteran and former tier 1 mage, Demon remains as potent as ever in the 8v8 mode and falls a few places only due to his early withdrawal from the Olympics. A threat in any team.
Ding
Perhaps the most underrated mage in Conquest, Ding surprised many with his Olympic successes this year. He also played an integral part of LC's victory over the Black Council, with strong mage performances in TDM and the decisive last Conquest map.
Joppi
A clan war specialist and master tactician, Joppi plays the class with a high intelligence, enabling him to compensate for lack of play time. The Black Council's CTR master.
Taco
A great duelling mage, Taco made it to the semi-finals of the 2014 Olympics before losing to Zoroastre. Sadly his 8v8 mage days are rather rare. Still, a formidable opponent.
Tier 3:
Stigman
An excellent 8v8 mage, Stigman really looks after his team. Strong defensive abilities. Remains untested in the 1v1 environment and is now almost inactive.
Darklion
An impressive victory over former GOLD medalist UK Henry saw Darklion progress to the quarter finals in the Olympics. Almost never uses his mage in 8v8 but remains a threat whenever he does so.
Rampage
A very strong 8v8 mage that did well to reach the quarter finals of the Olympics.
UK Henry
An upset loss in the Olympics, but Henry remains a very strong mage and former GOLD medalist. Now sadly almost inactive.
Morgothi Melkor
A strong 8v8 mage. Lost early in the regular mage Olympics but did well in Hero Mage. A force to be reckoned with!
