This is an insane question to answer because it depends on interpretation. Does 'best' mean 'best relative to other contemporary players', or 'best alltime ability', or 'most successful in 8v8 / clan wars / or 1v1s', or 'most important/influential'? Then there's the question of multiclass ability vs single class skill. How important is it to have discovered new moves/tactics? 1That said, by any or all of those criteria, I think the answer is probably Angelus, but it's closer than it was a year or so ago. In my eyes Ang is currently a tier 1 scout, archer and mage and maybe still a tier 1 warrior. For the first three of those classes, probably Angelus would be your first or second pick for 1v1 and 8v8. I think if he lacks anything it's knowledge of the aerial game with warrior but, still, he was able to beat Zoro in the warrior round of the Gauntlet match (although this is very short). Ang has by far the most gold medals of anyone in Olympic history and has been part of BC's clan war dominance for years. I know a couple of people think he plays more selfishly in 8v8 these days but if you go back and watch the army of 3 vids, you can see how great a team player he is (note the 10,000 times he saves me). Conquest is a game build around conservative play and patience, and Ang is a master of these things. So, in conclusion, being a top 2 pick - for years - either in 1v1 or 8v8 with three out of four classes, and warrior in 8v8, and being the most successful player in Olympic history makes Ang my top pick. 2I gotta mention some other people too. I think Taco is the strongest 8v8 player in the game at the moment. He'll almost always play the class that's most needed for team victory. He's just an abosolutely incredibly multiclass player and also a total beast in the 1v1 mode (check his Olympics medals). The only thing lacking - possibly - is a tier 1 mage, but he's already very close. Taco is a favourite team mate of mine because you know he will alway try 100% to win the match, regardless of his own personal k/d. A great tactician, and winner of the 2014 Gauntlet event! Merlin has been near the top of the game for years and is still the most successful and probably iconic mage (along with Mime) in game history. Over the last few years I saw Merl learn scout to tier 1 standard and also develop a great 8v8 archer and tier 1 warrior. Merl is a double gold medalist with warrior and mage. I miss his mage in 8v8 as he was the perfect aggressive tdm mage and also led his team in Conquest mode. Merl has a crazy will to win which most people that faced him 1v1 will recognise. Istari was for me the player who was the furtherst ahead of others at any one time. In the early days of Tunngle through until the first TacTic vs Empire clan war (which kind of ended Empire as a regular presence in game) I thought Istari was top in every class. Darklion was probably close in archer. Istari is the only person to have tier 1 #1 status i all leaderboards at once. He won the 2011 Iron Man, Warrior and Scout gold medals and, for a time, easily defeated other top mages and archers in 1v1 until Merlin put an end to this in a famous mage duel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=obV0tBJjZEUFrodosam is in my view the best 8v8 mage in the game at the moment, one of the top 8v8 archers and one of the very top backstab scouts. His warrior is also underrated. Although he hasn't been that successful in 1v1, I think Frodo is the strongest LC player at the moment. There are also players like Darklion, suzda, Lhii who could turn a match based on ability with one or two classes. Gotta give my vote to Lhii as one of the best 8v8 players. I'd like to mention Panos as an underrated 'dark horse' player. Also should mention people that invented/discovered combos and tactics. Experiment 187 for discovering the shotgun. Ronjons for developing more warrior and hero warrior combos than most people know - literally, in this regard Ronjons is the best melee player ever. Saburex, Taco and especially Zoroastre for developing the warrior aerial game. Zoro's unlimited aerial combos are insane, and it should also be mentioned that he won the first Gauntlet event, which in my view is the strongest test of overall multiclass ability - a phenomenal player. Sectorjam, not only for being the best scout 1v1 player in history - by far - and for being the current top mage duellist, but also for developing new combos with the scout. Gotta mention Oneshot for being probably the best multiclass player on any of the three original systems, at least after learning jump-cloak from the PS3 scene. And of course, everyone that was top of their class on the original EA systems and all other strong players of the game over the years.

Thx Mai Mai, Warrior has always been a nuisance to me, I never adapted to the aerial meta.... i think the only one i used was the light,medium,light,light...and whatever special i wanted to combine with it. 80% of my playtime and destruction of noob's was with my 4000 fake names which i regret. Madness

In the old days Rikimaru was a very good warrior too. But today he would need much traning because he wasnt there when warrior got the levelup with zoro-style.

Indeed, but I think he would also have much to teach that has now been largely forgotten. Riki helped pioneer WK/Naz metagame (with norQ and yours truly) and developed an infinite combo so devastating, so nefarious that for the safety of the world and the well being of your soul I will not utter it here. You may see me use it in game - and I do not beg your pardon, Master Mayhem; a day may come when the Black Screech is heard in every corner of the West, and Gandies and Legolasses flee in fear of the terror of the Ulairi. Yea, since you are altogether Evil, you and your Lurtz may rather rejoice!
